(More customer reviews)I enjoy the train simulator. As I noted in a review of that program, trains have always intrigued me since I woke up to their horns early in the morning in the 1950s. I saw this and another "add on" (to be reviewed once I play it more) and purchased them from Amazon.com
Problem 1: The program is easy to install. But after you've done so, it doesn't seem to be part of the Train Simulator! What is one to do...but CALL TECH SUPPORT (not toll free) from which the technician I talked with acknowledged that the programmers had left out instructions on how it works. It turns out it IS on the Train Simulator. The engines are simply under the "locomotive" choice. Oh, I see. But aren't there other routes? I guess not.
Problem 2: That's why I only give it three stars. All there are is some more engines. Sure, that's nice. I think I even find the engine that woke me up over four decades ago, that enormous diesel the likes of which one doesn't see much any more. And their are choices, e.g., the number of cars attached to each engine. But they all travel the same routes. So one must stretch your imagination to bad sci-fi proportions, e.g., using a Burlington train along the Norteast passenger route.
I guess that's okay. I mean, it's not a BAD add on. I just don't know I would have spent twenty bucks on it had I known it was just addition of new engines.
Enjoy the add on. But don't expect too much.
