(More customer reviews)Having spent several hours already with this headset on MW2 I am very satisfied with this product. The first and only mic I've ever used was the Jabra headset that came bundled with Warhawk. 2 years I had that headset and it finally crapped out so I upgraded for something reasonably priced. The difference between the Jabra and this Madcatz MW2 headset is significant. This official MW2 headset is extremely comfortable with its 1-size-fits-all ear loop. I have medium sized ears (so I've been told) and I can barely feel it throughout a 3-4 hour run. The Jabra had an adjustable ear loop that made it somewhat uncomfortable and even at the right setting the Jabra would make my ear sore after a couple hours. I'm very satisfied with the overall comfort.
Sound Quality: Excellent 5/5. Just last night during a MW2 match I wispered a comment to myself(complaining) and a buddy heard me loud and clear which really surprised me. There is a little his sound when you turn it on that most people don't like, but for me I like it because that is how I know it's turned on and ready to go in-game. Not to mention I don't notice it at all during matches.
Build: Good 4/5. One downside here that is a nit-pick. The MW2 label is only visable right side up if you wear the headset on your right ear. I can only use my left and can not for the life of me ever become customed to talking on a cell or use a mic on my right ear. This means the "MW2" label is upside down. Again this is my one stupid complaint. I tried everything even taking the label off and trying to switch it but no dice. Also there is no Mute button like the Sony headset has. Only options I found is to turn the volume down so no one hears your girlfriend yell at you or your rommate play his loud music. On the actual size it's small, sleek and not elongated like the Sony Headset.
Price: I sngged this during the Black Friday week for $30 shipped. It's now up to $34.99+sh which makes it closer to Sony's official Headset that is currently $41.99. I was torn between these headsets but the $11 difference sold me. Now I'm not sure what the better deal is. So look at both headsets like I did and come up with your own judgement. Know that the Sony headset comes with a charging dock that actually doubles the mic as a PC Microphone. I don't care for that but thats something to look at too.
I'm surprised there are no reviews yet. So hopefully this helps out the budget gamers looking into headsets.
