(More customer reviews)I bought one of these in November. It worked great for about a month, connecting up at up to 300Mbit/s.
There are 3 parts to this puzzle. The wireless N adapter, the driver for it, and their wireless configuration tool.
Their wireless adapter, when installed, creates a "wireless storage device" node on the USB bus.Meaning it looks to the USB manager like a USB disk with 0 capacity. That's an odd thing for a network device to do.If I could give it 0 stars, I would.
After running it for about a month, I started having problems with the wireless disconnecting, or not finding my wireless access point, most often executing a "Repair" cycle on the connection fixed it.Now, 2 months later, executing "Repair" causes a blue screen of death.
Doing a Hibernate cycle will also result in blue-screen if the Airlink is on.
Their configuration tool drops out of sync a lot, telling you you're no longer connected, but google search, email, and "ping" still work.
I went to their driver download page, their driver bundle is dated as "Oct 2008".BUT the driver bundle contains only their original driver and utility, about 2 years old - the date on their web site is misleading.
I re-installed the driver and utility, it worked okay for about a week and started having the same problems.
After contacting their tech support, and asking if they had any updates, and why they don't give either a version or creation date for their download, just the Oct 2008 date, their techie wrote back saying "Our code has no bugs, your computer is the problem. The date on the web site is the date we decided to make it available to the public via download". In other words - they think they're perfect, and don't care if their web site driver information is unclear.
They wasted my time by not having version information on their driver pack, and didn't feel that to be their problem.
That the product stops working reliably after a couple of months, that they don't maintain their code or take bug reports on it, and that they don't care enough to have accurate information about the content of their driver download pack on their website, makes this a terrible waste of time and money.
